About Avasa |

AVASA (ah-vah-sah) is an Intensive Ecstatic (5 Rhythms) Instructor, a PURE Foundation facilitator of the Cincinnati Branch, a Professional Fusion Tribal Belly Dance performer/instructor throughout East Coast area since 2003 and the director of Avasa Tribal, and the creator of R&B Tribal Belly Dance. Avasa’s passion for dancing began as a small child at the age of 6 when she began taking ballet. Through the years, Avasa has enjoyed techniques of ballet, hip hop, salsa, choreography and tribal belly dance. HOW IT ALL BEGAN: On June 28, 2002, my three year old son passed away from pneumonia. My life felt like it came to a complete halt! I realized that I had wasted many years pleasing others and not really giving myself a thought. Not only did I come last on many lists but I became last on my very on list. From my son’s death I learned that you are truly never promised tomorrow. My goal and purpose now is to live in the present, give back to the community and to motivate not only women but men and young persons to put themselves at the top of the list and to be happy and healthy in mind, body and spirit.
