$60-$100 per student

Workshops are generally 3-4 hours long with a break in the middle for rest and lunch travel.

Bhangra/Bollywood:  Bhangra is an exciting expressive dance created by Punjabi farmers and farming activities. Bollywood , inspired by the Indian film district of Bombay (now Mumbai), combines traditional moves of modern Indian dancing and upbeat music while bringing you the colorful choreographies that you see in the Bollywood musicals. This Bangra/Bollywood Workshop is full of cardio, stretching, and vigorous choreography. It is open to all levels of dance experience.

Liquid:  Avasa is well known for her liquid lava moves, posture, optimal control and sensuality. To appear as if you are melting on the stage strengthening exercises will help you to build on this technique.  Avasa’s first hour with you will take you through a series of anatomically detailed exercises that will create a strong carriage, align your center while opening the hips and chest.  For the remainder of the class Avasa will take you through a series of upper body drills, lower body drills, level changes with proper posture and floor work..  You will need: yoga mat, water and knee pads (optional)

Partner Pleaser:  This workshop really adds fire to the bedroom. You will learn sultry moves that will take you from standing to the floor and back up again….that is if you make it that far to finish the routine. LOL. Even the stretching exercises will get you in the mood. The choreography that will be taught will be compatible to different forms of music genres, from jazzy to alternative to…. well… ya know. You will also have the opportunity to shop and take some toys home from Erotic Party Times products. A good way to make your erotic time more fun and exciting.

Tribal Drum Solo:  Drum solos are so much fun and very expressive and so many shy away from this improved connection with the drummer.  Learn how to master this traditional belly dance art form with live drummers.  Avasa and Tree of Life will teach you the various rhythms that are played during a drum solo and what to do during each rhythm.  You will also learn compatable zill patterns to use during your drumb solo. With practice and daily drills a drum solo can be your best friend.  This workshop is recommended for students with at least 6 consecutive months of belly dance training.

Shimmypaloza: This workshop is all about the shimmy and layering with shimmies from head to toe.  There will be conditioning exercises and drills that will tone your quads, qlutes, shoulders and back. Your endurance will also be tested as we will build to sustain our shimmies for 5, 10 and up to 20 minutes along with shimmies with level changes and traveling (choo choo) shimmies.  

Yoga Isolations and Drills I:  This workshop consists of a yin yoga practice.  This form of yoga is used to decompress the spine, a very gentle and passive yoga style. The focus of concentration is not on our muscular structure but on our connective tissue and decompressing our spine and joints. Don’t take this form for granted, you will be very sore between each posture. Traditionally, each posture is to be held for 5 to 13 minutes. During class our goal is 5 minutes as a building block. Don’t worry, I do allow you to come out of the posture sooner if need be.  Isolations consists of slow moves such as snakey arms, taxeem, mayas, body unjulations and more.  The drill section consists of posture and maintaining that posture through level changes (flat foot to relevee) and incorporating the slow moves that you will learn during this workshop.

Yoga Isolations and Drills II:  This workshop consists of beginner and moderate yoga postures that will assist you in perfecting strong and deep slow moves such torso bends, camel walk, standing cobra and floor work.  Isolations consist of a breakdown of properly executing pops and locks throughout the entire body. Drills will be those that will allow you make quick and precise physical movements and to shift from move to move with fluidity. 

Yoga Isolations and Drills III:  A more intense yoga practice than in I and II.  Isolation part will be  with layering movements and layering with shimmies, quicker belly dance moves and lightening turns.  Drills will consist of zill patterns and basic tribal moves and combinations with the zills.
